            <description><![CDATA[A great transportation company in Walled Lake, MI has the immediate need for a Diesel Technician.&nbsp;&nbsp;This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity with an hourly pay rate in the range of $20-33/hour.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Diesel Technician will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosis, and repair on school buses, motor coaches, pickup trucks, passenger vans, cars, trucks, and/or forklifts owned by the company.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Diesel Technician will also be responsible for:&nbsp;<ul><li>Performs repairs as needed in accordance with OEM manufacturers recommendations and State and Federal regulations. Inspects equipment for defects, determines root causes and completes repairs for appropriate correction to defects found. Useful understanding of preventative maintenance inspection and repair processes to include but not limited to, diesel and gas engines, air and hydraulic braking systems, suspension systems, drivetrain assemblies, automatic transmissions, differentials, hydraulic lift systems, electrical systems and body assemblies.</li><li>Answers service calls and responds to breakdowns; conducts on-site repairs when possible.</li><li>May install accessories such as two-way radios, cameras and GPS systems.</li><li>Reviews technical service bulletins, vehicle maintenance diagnostic links, online electrical diagrams, has adequate understating /operational use of diagnostic software for diesel and gas engines, braking systems, etc.</li><li>Parts procurement and inventory control.</li><li>Communicates with bus drivers, operations staff and other Fleet technicians regarding maintenance difficulties and/or advises or assists as necessary.</li><li>Performs safety inspections; assists with annual Michigan State Police inspections.</li><li>Appropriate housekeeping of maintenance facility to include but not limited to: emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors in work areas including restroom/locker room areas.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>Prepares vehicle maintenance reports and submits to Regional Fleet Manager.
