Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Med Surg to join their team in Detroit, MI. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $53.52/hr and an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a specialized Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit.
Position Details:
- Job Title: RN - Med Surg
- Location: Detroit, MI
- Schedule: 36 hours per week (3 shifts/week, 12-hour shifts)
- Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering patient care in a Med/Surg-Tele unit.
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide and document patient care.
- Supervise and delegate tasks while ensuring patient and family education is effectively delivered.
- Work closely with healthcare teams to monitor patient progress and implement solutions for variances in care plans.
- Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) unit
- Primarily 60+ year-old patients
- 1: 5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Stroke overflow unit
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg-Tele unit
- Active Michigan RN license
- BLS Certification
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to create effective care plans
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Prior experience with geriatric patients strongly preferred
- NIHSS Certification strongly preferred
- BSN degree preferred
