Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician
Contract: $30-$35/hr
Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections of in-process builds on vehicle components, sub-assembly systems, and complete assemblies, including torque measurement and documentation according to established procedures.Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required.Work in a cross-functional environment utilizing Polyworks, PC-DMIS, and programming skills as applied to an articulating Romer ARM and CMM.Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.Complete reports of Receiving, In-process, and Final Vehicle inspections to communicate results.Communicate with internal customers as required to resolve inspection, engineering, and manufacturing challenges.Perform Final Vehicle Inspections to established documentation and training routines and document results.Review Quality Assurance procedures and assist with or perform internal audits, as required.Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and SkillsHigh school diploma required, with knowledge of trigonometry and additional specific training on precision measuring instruments and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Three to five years of experience in the Quality field.Minimum of two years of torque measurement experience, preferably in vehicle assembly.Minimum of two years of in-process vehicle build monitoring and documentation experience.Minimum of two years of recent CMM programming experience, preferably using PC-DMIS.Minimum of two years of recent Romer portable CMM inspection experience, preferably using Polyworks.Experience performing inspections using hand tools and precision instruments.Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.Strong organizational and workload planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Vehicle inspection experience helpful.Blueprint reading, CAD interpretation, and GD&T knowledge.Training for digital torque monitoring systems (Datamyte and/or Atlas Copco).Knowledge of mechanics, machining, and casting methods.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.Sound written and oral communication skills. Physical EffortVision: Must be able to regularly read computer screens, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to safely and efficiently accomplish work tasks, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Hearing: Must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate.Hand-eye coordination: Must be able to regularly coordinate vision with hands and arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects and perform job-related tasks.Manual dexterity: Must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movements with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as office equipment, tools, or controls.Agility: Must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, reach, and move throughout all facility areas and surrounding property.Climbing / Kneeling: Must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or crawl while maintaining balance.Lifting: Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.Physical strength: Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using various muscle groups.Stamina: Must be able to occasionally exert physical effort over extended periods, including repetitive or strenuous tasks, and prolonged standing or sitting.Working ConditionsThis position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to specific shifts or hours. Work conditions may include extreme heat or cold, inclement weather, working at heights, and exposure to constant or intermittent loud noise.This role works as part of a team to ensure workplace efficiency.Requires the ability to understand and safely use machinery and equipment to prevent accidents and complete tasks accurately.Must be able to follow varying instructions from management and perform tasks competently.Requires a methodical approach to follow production processes in the correct order.Strong concentration is required due to repetitive tasks and a fast-paced environment, with continuous focus needed for quality control purposes. Travel RequirementsNo travel required.
