Project Manager – Home Repair and Energy Efficiency
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $42.00/hour
Job Type: Long-term contract (Supplier Sourced)About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead home repair and energy efficiency projects as part of their Income Qualified Programs. This role is ideal for a skilled construction project manager who is passionate about making a difference in underserved communities. You will oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans and schedules; coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Budget Management: Track project costs, monitor resource use, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform site inspections to ensure work complies with all building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, internal teams, and contractors; provide regular updates and manage expectations.
  • Risk & Safety Oversight: Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure job site safety compliance.
  • Reporting: Maintain organized project documentation and generate progress reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, ideally in home repair or low-income housing projects.
    • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, safety requirements, and energy efficiency standards.
    • Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated commitment to community service and improving housing conditions.
