Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid)
Duration: 2-Year Contract with Possible Extension or Direct Hire

About the OpportunityOur client is seeking an experienced Organizational Development & Learning Consultant to partner with business leaders in designing, developing, and delivering impactful learning and organizational development solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending instructional design, facilitation, performance consulting, and project management to improve employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
You'll collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify performance gaps, create innovative learning strategies, and deliver engaging development programs that support business objectives.
What You'll DoPerformance Consulting & Organizational Development
  • Partner with business leaders to assess organizational and individual performance needs.
  • Identify root causes of performance gaps and recommend training and non-training solutions.
  • Consult with leadership on organizational development initiatives and performance improvement strategies.
  • Define learning objectives, business outcomes, and success measures for development initiatives.
Instructional Design & Content Development
  • Design and develop engaging, performance-based learning solutions using structured instructional design methodologies.
  • Create learning content across multiple delivery formats, including:
    • Instructor-Led Training (ILT)
    • Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT)
    • eLearning and digital learning modules
    • Job aids, toolkits, facilitator guides, and participant materials
  • Develop scalable learning resources that align with organizational priorities and operational goals.
Facilitation & Leadership Development
  • Facilitate interactive training sessions, workshops, and team development programs.
  • Deliver leadership development and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on applying learning concepts to improve team and individual performance.
  • Foster engaging learning environments that encourage collaboration and knowledge transfer.
Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Measure the effectiveness of learning programs through evaluation and performance metrics.
  • Analyze outcomes and recommend enhancements to improve learning effectiveness.
  • Stay current with instructional design trends, learning technologies, and organizational development best practices.
Project & Program Management
  • Manage multiple learning and organizational development initiatives simultaneously.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Monitor project milestones, risks, and deliverables while providing regular status updates.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure successful program delivery.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, organizational development, or performance consulting.
  • Experience designing and delivering learning across multiple delivery methods, including classroom, virtual, and digital learning environments.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with organizational change management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of learning evaluation frameworks and performance measurement methodologies.
