Job Description
Position: Press Brake Technician
Department: Sheet Metal
Compensation: target median rate of $21.50/hr, negotiable based on experience
Overview
We are looking for a capable Press Brake Tech who can both program and operate equipment in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment. This role supports our sheet metal forming and cutting operations while working closely with our engineering team. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly independent, and confident making decisions on the floor.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram and operate an Amada press brake using VPSS 3i Bend CAD/CAM softwareModify blank layouts and perform light CAD work when neededWork directly with engineering to ensure accurate part development and efficient manufacturabilityMaintain high quality standards in a precision aerospace environmentTake ownership of the sheet metal workflow and operate with strong personal leadershipAdapt to changing priorities common in a low-quantity, rapid-turn job shop
Required ExperienceHands-on programming and operating experience with Amada press brakesProficiency with VPSS 3i Bend (or similar Amada software)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and flat patternsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsComfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Preferred ExperienceBackground in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environments

Someone who combines technical skill with personal leadership. Someone who can own the process, solve problems on the fly, and be the technical driver of the sheet metal cell. This role is ideal for an operator/programmer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and craftsmanship in a job shop setting.
