Location: Jacksonville, TX (On-site)
Reports To: Plant Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our plant’s engineering, maintenance, and tool & die functions in support of safe, reliable, and cost-effective production. This role is responsible for the design, optimization, and sustainment of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. The ideal candidate will drive equipment reliability, strengthen technical capabilities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Accountability
Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Tool & Die teams. Establish clear expectations, standard work, and performance accountability to ensure strong execution and team engagement.
Manufacturing Process Ownership
Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Ensure processes remain stable, efficient, and scalable.Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize uptime and equipment performance. Drive reliability improvements and reduce unplanned downtime.
Tool & Die Shop Management
Lead the design, build, repair, and continuous improvement of tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges. Ensure tooling supports production efficiency and quality standards.Project & Capital Execution
Manage engineering-related projects including new product introduction, equipment installations, automation initiatives, tooling upgrades, and capacity expansions. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Quality & Process Capability
Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment meet quality standards. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process or equipment-related issues.
Lean & Continuous Improvement
Drive lean manufacturing practices, TPM initiatives, and structured problem-solving to improve productivity, reduce waste, and lower overall cost.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all engineering, maintenance, and tool room activities comply with safety and environmental standards. Enforce machine safety, guarding, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices.
Budget & Resource Management
Develop and manage budgets for engineering, maintenance, tooling, and capital investments. Monitor labor, spare parts, contractors, and tooling costs for effective resource utilization.
Performance Metrics & Cross-Functional Alignment
Track and report key performance indicators including OEE, downtime, tooling performance, and project execution. Partner closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to achieve plant objectives.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role. Experience in HVAC or a related industry is strongly preferred.Strong background in process design, equipment integration, and project management. Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in a manufacturing setting.Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with TPM and structured problem-solving approaches is a plus.Solid understanding of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing best practices.Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD and experience with ERP or manufacturing systems.Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
