Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid – Tues-Thurs onsite at 16 WCB; Mon & Fri remote)
Pay Rate: $29.90/hour (Benefits Avaialble)
Schedule: Full-time | Long-Term Contract with Possibility of Extension or Direct Hire

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in supporting case management, client communication, and legal documentation. Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in supporting case management, client communication, and legal documentation. Key Responsibilities:Case Management
- Organize and maintain physical and digital case files with confidentiality and accuracy
- Schedule court dates, deadlines, and attorney appointments
- Prepare and file legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery, etc.) with courts and agencies
- Monitor case progress and ensure attorneys are kept informed
- Assist with trial exhibit preparation
- Draft, proofread, and transcribe legal correspondence and memoranda
- Organize legal research materials and manage document production
- Handle discovery and e-filing in various court systems
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Schedule meetings and maintain professional communication
- Answer and route phone calls, emails, and inquiries
- Manage attorney calendars and handle general clerical duties (scanning, photocopying, filing, etc.)
- Process incoming/outgoing mail and maintain office supplies
- Conduct basic legal research as required
- Associate's degree required
- Paralegal certification required
- 3–5 years of experience in a legal assistant role within a law firm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to handle sensitive information
- Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Clio, PracticePanther) preferred
- Notary Public certification is a plus
- Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
- Legal document drafting and proofreading
- Case management and scheduling
- Client communication and professional correspondence

- Confidentiality and discretion
