Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional weekends)

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Greenhouse Technician I to join our team and support daily greenhouse operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates who thrive in outdoor environments and enjoy working with plants. You’ll be part of a collaborative team advancing agricultural research and supporting sustainable practices.

Location: Research Triangle Park, NC

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Greenhouse Technician I to join our team and support daily greenhouse operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates who thrive in outdoor environments and enjoy working with plants. You’ll be part of a collaborative team advancing agricultural research and supporting sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general greenhouse duties such as potting, planting, watering, fertilizing, trimming, and tying plants
- Harvest, thresh, and count seeds across various crop types
- Maintain clean and organized greenhouse and work areas
- Assist in collecting plant tissue samples for research
- Apply integrated pest management techniques, including insect scouting, pesticide/herbicide application, and beneficial insect release
- Operate a forklift (training provided if needed)
- Use data management systems to accurately record and collect data under supervision
- Follow all SOPs, Stewardship, Biosafety, and QMS protocols
- High School Diploma required
- Experience in greenhouse or fieldwork strongly preferred
- Associate's or Technical degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field is a plus
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
- Must be able to work in hot and humid environments and stand for long periods
- Attention to detail, accountability, and strong work ethic are essential
- Must be comfortable working occasional weekends as needed
- Forklift operation certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained)
