Engineering Configuration Support Assistant
Contract: $30-$35/hr
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Engineering Configuration Support Assistant prepares reports, metrics, and presentations in support of Configuration Management activities.This role requires the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders and to coordinate timing plans to meet departmental contractual deliverables and/or align with the integrated master schedule (IMS).The position monitors progress of deliverables to ensure submissions are timely and meet expectations. Responsibilities include capturing weekly Change Control Board (CCB), Configuration Management Working Group, and other departmental meeting minutes in accordance with contractual requirements.The role prepares deliverables supporting the Configuration Management Plan, tracks and records meeting attendees, communicates out-briefs and meeting minutes, and schedules and organizes meetings. Knowledge and SkillsAn associate degree or equivalent experience is required.The role requires strong skills in capturing and recording meeting minutes for Configuration Management and other meetings, as well as the ability to track and report progress of Configuration Management deliverables.The candidate must be able to formulate templates for tracking and measurement using extrapolated data results with Microsoft Office tools and demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.Strong typing skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.An automotive background with prior experience regularly capturing and recording meeting minutes, action items, and attendee lists is required.Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems, including Teamcenter, Windchill, and SAP, is desirable. Experience with SAE EIA-649-1 in support of Configuration Management deliverables is desirable. Prior security clearance is preferred. Physical EffortSight: Must be able to regularly read computer screens, reports, and various documents with clarity and detail to safely and efficiently accomplish work tasks. This includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Hearing: Must be able to hear adequately to communicate regularly. Working ConditionsPhysical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and may be assigned to specific shifts or hours. The employee must be able to perform job duties in varying and sometimes difficult conditions, including extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, heights, and constant or intermittent loud noise.Teamwork: The position works collaboratively with others to ensure workplace efficiency.Listening Skills: The role requires understanding proper and safe use of machinery to prevent accidents and ensure accurate task completion.Ability to Follow Instructions: Tasks and responsibilities vary and are assigned by management; the employee must follow instructions competently.Methodical Approach: Production processes follow defined procedures, requiring a methodical approach to ensure tasks are completed in the correct order.Concentration: The role may involve repeated or similar tasks in a fast-paced environment and requires a strong level of concentration to maintain quality control and consistent focus. Travel RequirementsNo travel is required.
