We are seeking a Collections Specialist to support a fast‑paced, goal‑driven collections department. This role handles collection calls, account follow‑ups, payment discrepancies, and customer service for assigned accounts. Candidates should live near West Babylon, NY, as the commute from Brooklyn or Queens can exceed two hours.

We are seeking a Collections Specialist to support a fast‑paced, goal‑driven collections department. This role handles collection calls, account follow‑ups, payment discrepancies, and customer service for assigned accounts. Candidates should live near West Babylon, NY, as the commute from Brooklyn or Queens can exceed two hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts daily and identify outstanding receivables
- Encourage timely payments and follow up on overdue balances
- Assist with cash application and research customer payment issues
- Work closely with Sales and management to accelerate collections
- Process credit card and e‑check payments and refunds
- Resolve billing discrepancies and short‑pays
- Reduce delinquency across assigned accounts
- Prepare reports on collection activity and progress
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned
- Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of collection techniques
- Ability to solve problems and manage multiple priorities
- 3–5 years of high‑volume collections experience
- High school diploma
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, etc.)
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Company systems such as CMS/RMS, InfoPro, Soft‑Pak
