About the RoleOur client is seeking a Financial Analyst to support capital investment projects through advanced forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, strategic planning, and performance transparency for major initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish multi-year monthly expenditure and cash flow forecasts for all assigned projects.
- Model capital investment and acquisition impacts, and manage the capital investment process.
- Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and project cost reports.
- Consolidate reporting for major projects and align with other cost reporting formats.
- Develop business plans, incorporate scope/cost changes into forecasts, and report to senior leadership.
- Partner with field and project management teams to prepare budgets, forecasts, and accounting transactions.
- Research and apply new accounting standards, ensuring proper policy implementation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost management strategies.
- Support a collaborative work environment, providing training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
- May lead project teams, assign work, evaluate results, and support performance development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis.
- Strong financial modeling and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and meet project goals.
- Proficiency with SAP.
- Prior experience with utility or energy-sector systems.
- Familiarity with FERC gas training is a plus.
