Financial AnalystLocation: Detroit, MI |  Hybrid
Pay Rate: $57.69/hour |  Full-Time Contract (Possible Extension) 
About the RoleOur client is seeking a Financial Analyst to support capital investment projects through advanced forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, strategic planning, and performance transparency for major initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish multi-year monthly expenditure and cash flow forecasts for all assigned projects.
  • Model capital investment and acquisition impacts, and manage the capital investment process.
  • Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and project cost reports.
  • Consolidate reporting for major projects and align with other cost reporting formats.
  • Develop business plans, incorporate scope/cost changes into forecasts, and report to senior leadership.
  • Partner with field and project management teams to prepare budgets, forecasts, and accounting transactions.
  • Research and apply new accounting standards, ensuring proper policy implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost management strategies.
  • Support a collaborative work environment, providing training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • May lead project teams, assign work, evaluate results, and support performance development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis.
  • Strong financial modeling and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and meet project goals.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Prior experience with utility or energy-sector systems.
  • Familiarity with FERC gas training is a plus.
